At first, I was like - " What a nice guy", but then I realized what show I was watching. So yeah, fuck you Kalios.
That Fifth guy seems nice - a nice gourmet guy.

"The void in my heart that was created by betrayal and thievery has been filled with delicious food." - I'm glad to see happy Curran - I really like her. And her hobby is really nice, though it can be pretty expensive.
I was so glad when I saw her laugh when she gave Nick that food. I was also wondering what that thing on top was... Turned out it was really alive... damn.

It also made me happy seeing all of them laughing at the round table (not an Elden Ring reference). I wanna see more.

Glad she finally found a good group of friends.

Out of curiosity, from where did you cut out that rather psychotic profile pic?

Omniscient Reader Webtoon.

Montano • 1 year ago

Is it a killer rabbit? I can't tell from the ZOOM applied to the pic.

S little, but not exactly. Read it and find out, its pretty good.

yalocaldex • 9 months ago

your profile pic reminds me of "Bunnicula" an animated series I used to watch on boomerang. Damn time went so fast.

James Hamlin • 11 months ago

your avaatar image reminds me of a cross of the vorpal rabbit from monty python's flying circus and the rabbit from donnie darko

Montano • 1 year ago

I'm not going to read it again. *shrug* Thx for info.

Shmarfle • 1 year ago

I mean, irl they put bonito flakes on top of takoyaki and they do move and jump around as a result of the heat radiating off of the takoyaki

But yeah, those being actual living things surprised me hahaha.

BizzaReOtaku • 11 months ago

thats also what i was thinking until she said it was a living breathing thing. intriguing, but highly disturbing.

Kai Kazuhiro • 1 year ago

Yeah, each and one of them filled their voids with something else.
Nick -> Agate / Idols
Zem -> Sex
Tiana -> Gambling
Karan -> Food

Lobstronomous • 1 year ago

Zem seems to fill as many external voids as he does internal. He could probably get away with not paying for it as well.

vovan1 • 1 year ago

Their faith in humanity was restored just in 3 episodes xD

KingKrash • 1 year ago

not necessarily, just that they realized that not EVERYONE is a piece of shit, as well as that they managed to find likeminded folk that have also been screwed over.

static5225 • 1 year ago

Compared to going to hostess bars, gambling, or splurging on idol merch, Curran's hobby is the least degenerate and the most wholesome of the bunch. xD

QuadL • 1 year ago

"Hostess Bars" is the nice way to say brothel.
"Splurging on idol merch" is the nice way of saying becoming a voyeur/stalker.
"Gambling" is a nice way to say losing all your earnings to a rigged system.
"Least degenerate" is a nice way of say... least degenerate!

MeguminExplosion • 1 year ago

5th guy reminds me of the guy from Isekai restaurant that always sits down and drinks beer with the dwarf and arguing which food is better. Got the same hair style too i think.

Archie Andrew's 1000 • 1 year ago

Fifth is like the fantasy worlds equivalent of Jouji from Human Bug Daigaku of being a gourmet food enthusiast and kind hearted guy ^^

Far Feather • 1 year ago

The funny thing I noticed is that she calls Nick "Niku" which means meat in Japanese

QuadL • 1 year ago

She meant every letter of it too.

Jacman99 • 1 year ago

Elden Ring.... Make me wanna play again

Reemus • 1 year ago

I mean, I mean, let's just remember that these guys are so bad and betraying because the author needs a convenient excuse WHY this particular character trust issues. Hating on them is, I don't know, quite outdated? They are just tools in the hands of authors who need cheap tricks for their cheap plots.

That said, Kalios might turn out to be a good guy and return in a later chapter and it turns out he did what he did for a reason. Will that happen? I am not betting on it because this is one generic piece of escapist adaptation. With terrible animation and scene composition.

Mega-Chad-Type-Hero • 1 year ago

Well, they could be just «convenient excuses, cheap tricks, cheap plots, etc.» but, packing deep stories into a 12-Episode Season (the default/standard amount of per-season Episodes for most Animé) may just not be enough time to cover the back-stories of how those betrayers became the way that they did/are (but, one believable explanation, was that their very own abusive parents did it to them one day, and, thus, they learned/adopted such behaviour by example). Just a possibility.

Dreamblade • 1 year ago

You could keep doing that forever though. Kalios was bad bc his parents beat him, his parents beat him because their parents beat them, and so on. At some point you just have to say this guy is bad and it doesn't matter why. It's like the weather; you just have to deal with it.

Stories are about perspective. From Karan's perspective, the betrayal went against all reason. She, as a nice person, will never fully understand how someone could attempt to murder an innocent person just for some money (I imagine her jewel was extremely valuable).

In real life there are people who run drug empires, whose actions kill and destroy the lives of thousands of young people. Can you understand the thinking of these people? I certainly can't, and I'm not even that interested in understanding them; they're just losers who would sell their own mothers for a dollar.

Klaxxi • 1 year ago

Id generaly agree with it but in this case it feels more like those 3 r arrogant ppl that dislikes dragonoids and just want the cash so they use her as bait clear the quest and steal the valuable egg and sell it before they move on to the next mark or whatever they will do after scamming her and cant call that being smt that would never happen elsewere since ppl scam eachother alot anyways

QuadL • 1 year ago

He seemed to be a pragmatist. The Dragonoid was a valued party member until they found a difficult goal that required a sacrifice. Would any of the other members be able to last as long as she did, dodge the attacks or draw the snake's attention like she did? Probably not even close. So, he resolved himself to losing the useful tool and gaining what seemed like a valuable item from the snake as well as the default stash she was hiding. She had reach the dead of her usefulness as far as he understood it.

Klaxxi • 1 year ago

Idk could also be that he wanted her items but couldnt beat her with his crew so take a quest for a enemy that has strong poison to get 2 birds in 1 stone otherwise theres no point in them skinning the other kills and just having her to focus on killing the monsters?

Kaladin Stormblessed • 1 year ago

I think its kind of dumb getting mad that there wont be any twists in the fact that they were all betrayed. Pretty dumb expectations

Serif Mango • 1 year ago

terrible backstory. Made absolutely no sense. Who in their right mind would give up on a strong dragonoid party member like that.

KOITENSHI4 . • 1 year ago

He was clearly a con artist from the biggening; he knew way too well how that jeweler scam worked. He was only pretending to be a "Hero" get her Dragons Gem from the start so whether she was strong or not didn't matter to him.

Omnistar • 1 year ago

Racists, obviously.

ayato shintaro • 1 year ago

Its more like terrible adaptation in the novel that dragon pearl that curran has is worth a fuckton of money if sold on black market which is their aim

Yowai! • 1 year ago

I wouldnt especially if its a woman as well

Dreamblade • 1 year ago

Yeah it's pretty obvious that the Dragon's Pearl is the real aim; I imagine it's extremely valuable. And I think there is probably some institutional racism against dragonoids, so they aren't worried about the law coming after them. That said, if they're smart they will skip town and change their identities.

Ohms Nuttachai • 1 year ago

That Kalios dared to decieve our Curran. He and Rahl from The Master Blade are runaway a*hole of the season so far. Can't wait to see both of them getting beaten up.

Leo Aestron • 1 year ago

If there's a list ranking for that, I would say Rahl is top 1, Kalios is top 2.
Rahl looks more scum than Kalios.

I wish Inglis would just choke Rahl at the neck, slam him to the ground, grab his face, crush his skull with her bare hand and break his skeletal system to the point all bones come out from his body like spike.

Then, throw his corpse back to Highland and threaten them, "If there's any Highlander who think they can do whatever they want with land-dwellers, this is how you will end up to be."

Mega-Chad-Type-Hero • 1 year ago

...Inglis (Chris) is from that other animé/isekai though.
Although I am sure that many share the same sentiments.

Another • 1 year ago

what bout that Loli who accuse the priest ?

that one is even worse than Rahl

Leo Aestron • 1 year ago

I'm not such a horrible person to wish something bad for a kid. She's just a child, but... I wish she someone find out the truth and point out her mistake to clear the priest's name.

QuadL • 1 year ago

yeah, but nah won't happen. Those priest that framed him were fearful of his rise to power threatening their positions. envy has deep roots.

Dreamblade • 1 year ago

Spanking, obviously.

ERIK LEROUGEUH • 1 year ago

good mc need vilain

QuadL • 1 year ago

Good MC needs a challenge to overcome and villain to be a foil.

joblesshobo • 1 year ago

*Takes note* Dragonkind nails are crazy sharp.

Guess that's one thing off the list...

vovan1 • 1 year ago

can't wait too see their effect on Kalios face :D

KingKrash • 1 year ago

They aren't actually TOO sharp though considering she had to actively attempt to scratch the thing and even then ended up scrapping off some instead.

wwlaos • 1 year ago

Maybe should wear armor while... >_>

QuadL • 1 year ago

at least protect your backside. it could get rough.
